What is an IRPrism? The IRPrism is a highly reflective, multifaceted lens that works in conjunction with Audioplex Technology's IRFloods and IRBugs. When do I use the IRPrism? Use the IRPrism in situations when the wires running across the front of A/V equipment might get pulled off; when A/V gear is visible and obtrusive wires clutter the look of the component; when using one "IR Blasting Emitter" (IRFlood) to control multiple A/V components. How does an IRPrism work? Simply place the IRPrism over the infrared sensor of the unit to be controlled. Then, place an IRBug or IRFlood up to 90 degrees to the side or the top of the unit - firing the IR signal across the unit's front panel. The IRPrism's reflective surface gathers infrared signals, normally too weak to offer any control, and focuses it into the sensor. Now, reliable 90 degree off-axis control is possible!
